The programme is expected to prevent up to 2.5 million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions each year and support the vision of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Power Grid by creating a grid that allows large-scale integration of renewable energy and functions as vital national infrastructure for ASEAN countries.
The ADB said the downward revisions to growth and inflation forecasts reflect persistent economic challenges and a gradual easing of inflationary pressures.
In its latest Asian Development Outlook (ADO) report, ADB projects Thai GDP to expand 2% this year, down from 2.9% forecast in April, with the economy slowing in the second half as front-loaded shipments to the US end.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has raised its forecast for Vietnam’s economic growth in 2025 to 6.7% from previous 6.6% on the back of service, agriculture, and foreign direct investment (FDI), despite global policy uncertainties.
The bank has also revised Vietnam’s economic growth forecast, raising it to 6.7% in 2025 and adjusting to 6.0% in 2026. Inflation projections are slightly below the previous estimates published in April this year.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) on August 25 said it has signed with GSA Data Centre 01 Company Limited (GSA) a loan of 900 million THB (about 27.8 million USD) to fund the development, construction, and operation of a 25.6-megawatt colocation green data centre in Thailand.
The meeting welcomed ADB’s readiness to invest up to 10 billion USD of its own resources over the next decade in support of the APG, including crossborder interconnections, and other APG-related investments (domestic grid strengthening and renewable energy for power export). It also also welcomed investment from the WB through its 2.5 billion USD "Accelerating Sustainable Energy Transition Multi-Phase Programmatic Approach (ASET-MPA)" programme, approved in 2024 to ramp up renewable energy and promote power trade across the region.
The project will help finance the delivery of monthly electronic food vouchers to 750,000 food-insecure households nationwide, the bank said.
The loan will be used to increase the plant’s capacity from 30,000 to 80,000 cubic metres per day, ensuring a reliable supply of clean water for residents, as well as for the growing number of commercial and industrial users.
