Hanoi (VNA) – Flights departing from epidemic-hit areas in the Republic of Korea (RoK) will land at designated airports in Vietnam in a move to help prevent the spread of the acute respiratory disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19), said the Ministry of Transport on February 26.

Those airports are Van Don in Quang Ninh province in the north, Phu Cat in Binh Dinh province in the south-central region, and Can Tho in the southern city of the same name.

All passengers of the flights will have to fill in the health declaration forms. Vietnamese passengers should consider before returning as they are to go into a 14-day quarantine, the ministry noted.

Airlines are also recommended to reduce and restrict flights linking the RoK and Vietnam for efficient COVID-19 control.

Relevant agencies in aviation, tourism and goods transport in border regions are requested to strictly follow measures on the prevention and control of the disease, as well as keep a close watch on the people entering the country via border gates./.
