HCM City (VNA) - The efficiency must be placed first andall medical resources must be mobilised to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, regardless ofpublic or private, military or civilian, central or local level, Deputy PrimeMinister Vu Duc Dam stressed while inspecting pandemic preventionand control at Military Hospital 175 in Ho Chi Minh City on July 27.

Dam, who is Head of the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention andControl, said that the COVID-19 pandemic has spread widely in Ho Chi Minh Cityand its neighbouring localities, requiring the application of special solutions.

Local people should accept to sacrifice personal interests,give up some personal habits and needs for a while to avoid heavy losses in lives when thepandemic cripples the healthcare system, he said.

The Deputy PM asked local administrations at all levels to ensure people'slives, mobilise and create the best conditions for charitable activities tobetter support people in need.

Atpresent, Ho Chi Minh City’s mission is to ensure the strict implementation ofsocial distancing regulations, protecting the safety of medical staff, andimprove the efficiency of coordination and cooperation between sectors,localities and units in transport and treatment of COVID-19patients, he noted.

Accordingto Major General Nguyen Hong Son, Director of Military Hospital 175, since the COVID-19 broke out in the city, the hospital has expanded its screening of those withhigh risks. The hospital is ready to support pandemic prevention and controlfor military hospitals in the Southeast region./.
