Hanoi (VNA) – Director of theCentral Institute for Economic Management (CIEM) Nguyen Dinh Cung suggestedministries and ministerial-level agencies simplify business conditions andremove ones which are unclear, too vague, and unfeasible before the thirdquarter of 2019.
He further recommended announcing the abolished andsimplified business conditions from 2018.
Localities are not allowed to create illegalbusiness conditions and must strictly punish officials who violate newregulations.
According to the World Bank’s Doing Business2019, Vietnam ranked 69th out of the 190 countries and territories listed, downone spot against the previous year.
Compared to other ASEAN countries, Vietnam wasbehind Singapore’s second position, Malaysia (15th), Thailand (27th), andBrunei (55th); while higher than Indonesia (73rd), the Philippines (124th),Cambodia (138th), Laos (154th), and Myanmar (171st).
Among the ten sectors that the report covered,Vietnam earned higher scores in seven indicators, including getting electricity(up by 9.25 points) and starting a business (up by 2.80 points). –VNA
