Hanoi (VNA) - The 53rd ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting(AMM 53) entered the last working day on September 12, with important events such as the 27th ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF), ASEAN-EUforeign ministers’ meeting, and ASEAN-India foreign ministers’ meeting.
The ARF is an important platform for security dialogue in the Asia-Pacificregion. With ASEAN in the central position, the ARF has become a key driving force inbuilding trust among regional countries through diversified initiatives topromote trust and preventive diplomacy.
At the forum, foreign ministerswill discuss several important documents such as adopting the 27th ARF Chair Statement, ARFstatement on the prevention of infectious disease outbreaks, ARF statement ontreatment for children who are employed or involved interrorist and violent extremist groups, and ARF statement on IT securitycooperation amid digital economic development, among others.
