Hanoi (VNA) – Angola looks forward to furthering cooperation and experience exchange with Vietnam, President Josse Euardo dos Santos said when receiving new Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Manh Cuong on February 25.

The President, who is also Chairman of the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), congratulated the Communist Party of Vietnam on its successful 12 th national congress.

He recalled his Vietnam visit in 1987 and said he is impressed by the Southeast Asian country’s achievement in its economic growth and international integration.

He appreciated Vietnam’s assistance to Angola when the later met with difficulties and the contribution of Vietnamese expats to his country’s development.

Angola put stress on the partnership with Vietnam, which has produced sound outcomes, he said.

Ambassador Cuong conveyed President Truong Tan Sang’s greetings and wishes for stronger ties with Angola to his host.

He pledged to do his utmost to cement the relations between Vietnam and Angola.-VNA
