An ASEAN Family Day 2013 was held in Mexico on August 24 with the aim of further tightening the friendship and cooperation between nations in the bloc as well as with the host country.
The event was hosted by the Thai Embassy in Mexico in collaboration with the embassies of Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam.
The event is vital for connecting the representative agencies of ASEAN members in Mexico, stressed Thai Ambassador to Mexico Chirachai Punkrasin in the opening ceremony.
He also called on the agencies to continue offering mutual solidarity, support and assistance through their external activities in Mexico.
After the opening ceremony, participants joined some folk games from regional countries and shared their traditional dishes.
