An ASEAN Secretariat delegation has visited India to promote bilateral ties at the invitation of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of ASEAN-India Dialogue Relations.
In its press release on August 14, the ASEAN Secretariat said the delegation, led by ASEAN Deputy Secretary General for ASEAN Political-Security Community Nyan Lynn visited New Delhi and the southern city of Bangalore. They met with officials from various Indian ministries and agencies that are directly involved in ASEAN-India cooperation projects and activities.
In a round table of the ASEAN-India Network of Think Tanks, the ASEAN Deputy Secretary General affirmed the fruitful partnership for the past two decades.
He said ASEAN and India must capitalise on their partnership through enhanced connectivity to continue to reap benefits, as Asia becomes the engine of growth for the global economy.-VNA
