New Delhi (VNA) – ASEAN Secretary General Le Luong Minh and Indian Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj explored areas of cooperation during their meeting in New Delhi on December 11.

The collaborative fields include information-technology (IT), trade, tourism, and linguistics.

The two sides exchanged opinions on the ASEAN Vision 2025, which provides a roadmap on the bloc’s goals and ambitions for furthering solidarity, integration, and connectivity as a regional community.

ASEAN and India plan to cooperate in IT, English language training in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam (CLMV), and establishing an ASEAN research centre in India’s Shillong state.

The two officials also shared ideas on setting up a manufacturing hub in the CLMV as well as possible cooperation in tourism and air links.

Established in 1967, ASEAN groups 10 nations - Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.-VNA
