Vietnam started the match with energy, but it was Australia whograbbed the early lead in the third minute when Daniel Fogarty slammedin the rebound off a freekick from Tobias Seeto.

Six minuteslater, Australia were two goals up with an exquisite chip fromFernando de Moraes, before Adam Cooper (16th minute) and GregoryGiovenali (19th minute) made it 4 – 0 at half time.

Vietnam managed to pull a goal back from a power play when Tran HoangVinh scored in the 27th minute, but Australia put the game to bedwith two more goals from Fogarty in the 35th and 36th minutes.

Vietnam will play Indonesia in the third-place play-off match on October 27. Australia will play Thailand in the final.-VNA
