Representatives from 50 Australian universities, colleges and educational institutions have come to the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho in a joint effort to enroll more Vietnamese students.
They were present at the Australian Future Unlimited: Education Roadshow Vietnam 2012 on November 13, which is an annual activity of the Australian Government organised by the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade).
As the eighth of its kind held in Vietnam and the second in the Mekong Delta, this year’s event aimed to raise the number of Vietnamese students in Australia , which now exceeds 20,000.
Currently, Vietnam ranks fifth as a source country for international students coming to Australia , following China , India and the Republic of Korea .
Apart from the educational exhibition, Austrade also organsised interactive activities for Australian educators and Vietnamese students and their parents, as well as for officials of the Australian and Vietnamese Governments.
Similar events also took place in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City./.VNA
