Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has agreed to the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau’s proposal to develop a major fishery hub to serve the southeastern fishing grounds.
The fishery centre in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province is one of six centres which will be built under the overall plan for fishery development in Vietnam through 2020 with a vision to 2030.
This centre will serve as a fishery hub for the Southeastern region, which includes Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai and Tay Ninh provinces, as well as HCM City.
Out of the six centres, five will be major fishery hubs. The centre in Khanh Hoa for the south central region and Truong Sa islands’ fishing grounds will be completed in 2015.
The four remaining centres, which are located in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Da Nang, Hai Phong and Kien Giang, are calling for investors for the 2016-2020 period.-VNA
