During the 2020–2025 term, Ho Chi Minh City, together with Binh Duong and Ba Ria–Vung Tau, achieved significant progress in economic development and infrastructure, maintaining its position as Vietnam’s leading growth engine. Following their merger, the city is now pursuing the vision of becoming an “international megacity” with strategic breakthroughs in transport infrastructure, global finance, logistics, high technology, and smart urban development — aiming to rank among the world’s top 100 most livable cities.

HCM City rezoning advantageous for developing marine sports

Nature has blessed Ba Ria–Vung Tau with over 100 km of coastline, including 72 km of gently sloping white sandy beaches and calm waves year-round. These conditions are ideal for a variety of beach sports, including beach volleyball, beach sepak takraw, sailing, and traditional boat racing.

Efforts needed to enhance role of private sector in expanded HCM City

The resolution affirms that in a socialist-oriented market economy, the private sector is one of the most important driving forces of the national economy.
