Bac Giang (VNA) – The northern province of Bac Giang will plan thedevelopment of new industrial parks (IPs) in the locality from 2020 – 2030,according to Tran Vu Thong, Vice Head of the province’s industrial parksmanagement board.
The new IPs in the vision include the Nham Son, Yen Lu and Xuan Phu – HuongGian in Yen Dung district; Hop Thinh in Hiep Hoa district; Bac Lung and KhamLang – Yen Son in Luc Nam district; and the Tan Thinh – Quang Thinh – Huong Sonin Lang Giang district.
The management board has proposed that the province adds the IPs to the provincialIP development master plan and submit it to the Prime Minister for approval.
Thong also noted the need for specific measures to attract experienced andfinancially capable investors to develop infrastructure of the IPs. At the sametime, the province should invest in infrastructure facilities outside IPs tofacilitate investment mobilisation.
The People’s Committees in districts where thefuture IPs are located are urged to work harder in land clearance for the IPs.
Located 50 km to the northeast of the capital city of Hanoi, Bac Giang has hugepotential for developing electronics, electricity appliances, agriculturalproduct processing, mechanical engineering, chemicals, and constructionmaterials.
The province is currently home to six IPs, namely Dinh Tram, Quang Chau, SongKhe – Noi Hoang, Van Trung, Viet – Han (Vietnam – Republic of Korea) and HoaPhu.
The Dinh Tram IP has 119 investment projects, including 61 domestic ones, worth1.73 trillion VND (76.12 million USD), and 58 foreign ones worth over 325million USD, while the Quang Chau IP has 18 investment projects, 16 of whichare foreign-invested. The Trung Van IP houses 54 projects, and the Song Khe –Noi Hoang has 33.
Land clearance and infrastructure construction are underway in the Hoa Phu andViet – Han IPs.
The province’s industrial production value in the first nine months of thisyear reached 78.36 trillion VND (3.44 billion USD), up 32.8 percent year onyear.-VNA
