Ho chickens have been mainly raised in Lac Tho hamlet,Ho town, for around 600 years.
An adult Ho chicken has an average weight of 4-6kilograms and its meat is pink, fragrant and highly nutritious.
Due to the slow growth of Ho chickens and lowsuccessful rate of incubated eggs by hens, the number of the poultry raised is stilllimited.
According to statistics, there are around 100households in Lac Tho hamlet raising the chicken with a total number of 1,500chickens.
Each year, the hamlet provides the market with 10,000young chickens and nearly 1,000 adult chickens.-VNA
