Kuala Lumpur (VNA) – Bahrain has decided to set up its embassy in Malaysia to strengthen bilateral relations.
Bahrain’s King Hamad Isa Al-Khalifa instructed the decision, Foreign Minister Sheikh Khalid Ahmed said during a joint press conference with Malaysia's Defence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein in Kuala Lumpur on May 3.
The Bahrain government will send a team to Malaysia in the next two months to implement the decision, he added.
The FM noted that Bahrain will take necessary steps to launch visa exemption policy between the two countries.
Minister Sheikh Khalid Ahmed is as part of King Hamad Isa Al-Khalifa’s four-day visit to Malaysia, which started on April 30.
It is the first visit by a Bahrain leader in 43 years since the two countries established their diplomatic ties. - VNA
