An aircraft of Bamboo Airways (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’s newest airline, Bamboo Airways, is working withauthorities of the Czech Republic to complete relevant procedures to launchHanoi-Prague direct flights, according to a representative of the carrier.
BambooAirways and Prague’s international airport inked a memorandum of understanding(MoU) regarding the matter on April 17.
Under theMoU, the Prague airport will apply various incentives for the Vietnamesecarrier in approval of flight schedule, market research and promotion, policieson take off and landing, and cost of passenger services.
Upon theoperation of the Hanoi-Prague direct route, travelling time from Vietnam to theCzech Republic is expected to be reduced down to just 12 hours.
Inaddition, the Czech Republic’s Ministry of Transport has voiced its attention toand support for the carrier’s plan to launch direct flights linking the twonations.
It alsovowed to work with relevant agencies of the European country and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to helpBamboo Airways complete procedures for flight permission as regulated.
VicePresident of Bamboo Airways Duong Thi Mai Hoa said that the airline’s newdirect flights are hoped to serve as a bridge, fostering bilateral economiccooperation as well as travel and trade activities of people of the twocountries.
Thedirect route linking the two nations will be an important step for BambooAirways’ plan to expand to Eastern Europe in particular and the European marketin the future, she added.
BambooAirways also announced its first charter flights to the Republic of Korea andJapan earlier this month.
By theend of this year, its fleet is estimated to rise to 40, including Airbus A320,A321 Neo, and Boeing 787 Dreamliner. –VNA
