Khanh Hoa (VNA) – Bangkok Airways’ first flight from Thailand’s Bangkok capital city landed in Cam Ranh International Airport in Vietnam’s central province of Khanh Hoa on January 25 afternoon.
The carrier will offer four flights weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, using 144-seat Airbus A319. The direct flight takes nearly two hours.
The route has been seen as a diplomatic bridge between Vietnam and Thailand in tourism, economy and social affairs.
Flight PG994 from Cam Ranh is scheduled to land in Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok later the same day.
Bangkok Airways is the first international airline to open a direct flight between Bangkok and Cam Ranh, which is the fourth destination of the carrier in Vietnam, following the launching of the air routes of Bangkok-Da Nang in May 2016, Bangkok-Phu Quoc in October 2017 and Chiang Mai-Hanoi in March 2018.
Located near the resort city of Nha Trang in Khanh Hoa province, Cam Ranh boasts pristine and mesmerising beaches that have yet to be marred by human hands.
This year, Khanh Hoa province will host the National Tourism Year themed “Nha Trang – Colours of the Sea,” with multiple culture-tourism events.
The province received 6.3 million tourists, including 2.8 million foreigners, in 2018. Its target is to welcome 8.5 million tourists, including 3.5 million foreigners, in 2020, and to earn 70 trillion VND (3 billion USD) in tourism revenue.-VNA
