Banks lend significant amounts to green projects

Many banks in Vietnam have recently poured significant amounts of money into green projects.

One example, BIDV has launched a credit package of 405 million USD, offering loans for enterprises’ green projects.

Previously, BIDV also launched a green credit package of 170 million USD, specifically designed for textile and garment enterprises, to participate in the green transition process.

The money that TPBank recently announced for enterprises with green plans and projects, is 202 million USD. Notably, the bank applies a zero-percent interest rate in the first three months.

The same figure, 202 million USD, was offered by VietinBank through the green finance program Green UP.

The list also includes MSB, ACB, Agribank, MBBank, HDBank, and Nam A Bank, among others.

According to the State Bank of Vietnam, as of the end of March, 47 credit institutions reported a total green outstanding loan of more than 25.8 billion USD, accounting for about 4.5% of the total outstanding loan of the entire economy./.
