Da Nang (VNA) - Thousands participated in the third Cocobay Da Nang Barefoot Run on the beach at Naman Retreat beach resort in Truong Sa Street of Ngu Hanh Sơn District on August 26.

The event’s organiser, IndoSun Company, saw runners racing free in the one-day fun race on the pristine beach along with entertainment activities.

Earlier, runners joined a communication campaign on cleaning the beach and ocean as well as promoting sports training.

It is the third run in a row that has been held on Da Nang’s beach. More than 10,000 local and foreign runners joined in two previous runs in January and February.

The run, a sports-entertainment event, is also held as a prelude to the 5th Asian Beach Games to be held in the city this September.

According to the organisers, the runners also joined the Cocofest on the nights of August 26 and 27 with the performance of top Vietnamese and foreign singers including Kelis Roger from the United States, Samsaya from Norway, duo DJs Lulu Rouge from Denmark, and Park Gyuri and band From the Airport from the Republic of Korea, in addition to Vietnamese singers Toc Tien and Noo Phuoc Thinh, rapper Suboi, and local bands SpaceSpeakers, KOP band, and DJ 1900 Le Theatre.-VNA
