Hanoi (VNA) – With a comeback win of 3-2 against Thailand on November 6, Vietnam secured the first place of Group A at the ASEAN Futsal Championship 2024 and will face Australia in the semifinals.
In the first half, hosts Thailand took the lead in the 4th minute, when Thinh Phat of Vietnam scored an own goal.
After failing to net in the 9th minute, Duc Hoa succeeded in leveling the score three minutes later thanks to a right corner kick from another player.
In the second half, Thailand managed to raise their goals to two in the 31st minute.
However, Cong Vien took advantage of the Thai goalkeeper’s mistake to earn a goal for Vietnam in the 36th minute and another just tens of seconds later.
With the latest 3-2 win, Vietnam are in the first place of Group A with 12 points after four matches. Thailand come second with nine points.
Futsal players of Vietnam are scheduled to play against the second-place team of Group B, Australia, on November 8. The other semifinal is between Thailand and Indonesia./.
