Beach clean-up launched on Co To Island

A group of 60 tourists took part in a beach clean-up initiative launched by the Phan Nguyen Company at Love Beach in Co To town in Co To island district, Quang Ninh province, on May 13. This is a new activity and should be encouraged in the coming time.

Instead of teambuilding games, the group of visitors engaged in a “beach rubbish collecting” contest launched by the company’s Board of Directors. The team that collected the most rubbish won 2 million VND (80 USD).

The effort not only provided exercise and entertainment, but also helped raise awareness among participants about environmental protection. To support the initiative, the Co To Tourism Association provided the necessary tools for rubbish collection, such as bags and gloves.

As an island district, Co To faces significant challenges from ocean waste, particularly non-biodegradable plastics. This not only impacts the beauty of the local area and its tourism, but also damages the natural environment, especially marine ecosystems.

In recent times, the district authorities have carried a number of environment protection measures, spreading the green message among locals and travellers./.
