The Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) on April 12 granted 30 sets of computers to Vietnam’s Nguyen Du school in the Lao capital city of Vientiane.
On the same day, an inauguration ceremony for a 51 billion VND road leading to the school’s campus took place. The 200m long is built with funding from the BIDV.
Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Ta Minh Chau, BIDV Chairman Tran Bac Ha and the Vice President of the Vietnamese Association in Laos along with Vientiane officials attended the event.
Addressing the function, Truong Van Tai, a teacher at the school, thanked BIDV for its support for overseas Vietnamese students at the Nguyen Du school in particular and those in Laos in general, adding that such assistance has contributed to boosting the Vietnam-Laos friendship.
Also, BIDV has presented another 20 sets of computer to overseas Vietnamese children in Luang Prabang and Champassak provinces of Laos./.
