Binh Duong overfulfills yearly FDI attraction goal

The southern province of Binh Duong attracted about 1.7 billion USD of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the first 10 months of this year, exceeding the goal set for the whole year by 19 percent.

– The southern province of Binh Duong attracted about1.7 billion USD of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the first 10 months of thisyear, exceeding the goal set for the whole year by 19 percent.

Acccording Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Hoang Thao, thelocality is still working hard to remove difficulties caused by the COVID-19pandemic, towards completing its socio-economic target in 2020.

Binh Duong’s industrial production index (IPI) is expected to increase 8.5percent, and its total retail sales of goods and service to surge 15 percent in 2020.

Meanwhile, the added value of the service sector is forecast to increase 7.3percent, and the export and import turnovers to increase by 5 percent and 10.9percent, respectively.

The locality’s GDP growth is estimated at 6.78 percent and its per capita GRDPand the State budget revenue to reach 151.5 million VND (about 6,542 USD) and over59.6 trillion VND in 2020.

The local authorities have paid special attention to improving the investmentenvironment and changing investment attraction methods in order to make themost of the current wave of capital and technology shifting in the region andthe world, towards creating a premise for the locality’s economic breakthroughin 2021.

The development of transport, logistics, and industrial park infrastructure hasbeen also promoted, aiming to meeting the demand of investors./.

More preferential credit available to businesses

Under SBV requirements, commercial banks are to provide Vietnamese-dong loans to SMEs and growth-driving sectors at rates at least 1 percentage point per year lower than their average rates for loans of the same maturity. They are also required to consider waiving or reducing service fees for eligible customers in line with regulations and their financial capacity.

Vietnam, UK seek new growth drivers in technology, logistics

Over 60% of long-stalled projects have obstacles resolved

Of the 8,002 long-stalled projects, 4,938 completed the settlement of obstacles in line with conclusions of the Party Central Committee and resolutions of the National Assembly and Government, as well as relevant Government decrees and guiding documents as of July 20, up 564 projects from the previous month.

Vietnam, New Zealand seek new impetus for trade ties

Ho Chi Minh City to integrate IoT into smart transport infrastructure

To promote IoT application in smart transport, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Chairman has assigned the Department of Construction to lead the deployment of IoT in the construction, management, operation and maintenance of transport infrastructure. The department will also review and propose integrating IoT sensors and smart monitoring devices into transport construction, renovation and upgrading projects across the city.
