The Budapest Operetta and Musical Theatre and Vietnamese violinist Hoang Tuan Cuong will perform a night of classics at the Hanoi Opera House on October 22.
The night will feature a combination of music, literature, history and ballet.
The Hungarian Budapest Operetta and Musical Theatre will perform under the baton of conductor Laszlo Maklary together with four soloists Szilvi Szendy, David Szabo, Monika Fischl and Gergely Boncser.
"We will perform famous pieces by known composers of the world at the concert," said the conductor on a video clip shown at a press conference held on October 18 at the Nikko Hotel.
The Budapest Operetta and Musical Theatre is one of the oldest and most successful theatres in the Hungarian capital.
It is one of the most visited theatres in Hungary. It has co-operated with partner theatres in St Petersbourg, Bucharest, Prague, Salzburg and Erfurt.
The theatre is regularly on tour performing in numerous countries and cities in Europe and Asia with operettas and musical productions.
It has been awarded the title Superbrands for its excellent achievements in 2012, 2013 and 2014. It is also among the National Treasures of Hungary.
Violinist Cuong will perform Romance No 2 by Beethoveen with the orchestra. He has been working as a member of the First Violin in the Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra since 2004.
Cuong won the first prize at the Max Reger International Chamber Music Competition in 1996.
"When I was a student I dreamt of playing this piece with an orchestra. I love Beethoveen, whose music is sad and romantic," he said at the press conference.
This is the third time Cuong performs at the Hanoi Opera House. His first time was in 1990 when he performed and won First Prize at the Autumn National Music Competition in 1990.
The concert will open with Overture of the Bat by German Johann Strauss and it will close with an operetta Nut Brown Maiden from the Prairie by the Hungarian operetta composer Emmerich Kalman.
Pieces by Kalman will be a main feature of the concert which is held annually by Toyota Motor Asia Pacific and Toyota Motor Vietnam.
The concert has been being held in six other Asian countries including Brunei, the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia from October 10 to 31.
"It will be a wonderful music night which is held by Japan, Hungary and Vietnam. The meaningful concert will bring joy to audiences and raise funds for talented Vietnamese students," said Hungarian Ambassador Csaba Ory.
The concert will begin at 8pm at the Hanoi Opera House. All ticket proceeds go towards the Toyota Scholarship for Vietnamese Young Music Talents.-VNA
