Government revenue hit 76 trillion VND (3.65 billion USD) in April, raising the total revenue in the first four months of this year to 244.1 trillion VND (11.71 billion USD), the Ministry of Finance said on its website.

This figure was up 2 percent year on year and equivalent to 29.9 percent of the estimate for 2013.

In the January-April period, revenue from domestic economic activities was estimated at 164.29 trillion VND (7.89 billion USD), up 2.9 percent over the same period last year, while income from oil exports reached 40.27 trillion VND (1.93 billion USD), up 4.6 percent.

After refunding 18 trillion VND (864 million USD) in value-added tax, revenue from international trade was estimated at 38.29 trillion VND (1.84 billion USD), down 4.3 percent year on year.

In the four months ending in April, Government spending rose 12.3 percent over last year to reach 303.4 trillion VND (14.56 billion USD), resulting in a budget deficit at 59.3 trillion VND (2.85 billion USD).-VNA
