Hanoi People's Committee has cancelled land-use rights for 13 projects on a total of 14ha that did not start on schedule despite extensions.
Committee Deputy Chairman Vu Hong Khanh has asked that the city's administrators determinedly cancel projects that did not meet the conditions of their land-use certificates as well as work with investors to quicken the construction of on-going projects.
Hanoi Natural Resources and Environment Department officials have inspected another 32 projects delayed within 12 months of receiving land-use certificates.
Projects on more than 76ha were given a six-month extension in February. The inspectors found that work had started on 21 of the projects and some had been completed.
But the people's committee instructed district administrators to cancel six on almost 13ha of land because of the lack of progress.
Another five are awaiting planning adjustment or land clearance process.
