Cambodia-Japan trade records nearly 1 billion USD

During the period, Cambodia’s exports to Japan were valued at 716 million USD, up 31.5 percent, while its imports from the country amounted to 228 million USD, an increase by 19.3 percent compared to the same period of 2013.

In November alone, Cambodia’s exports to Japan totaled 26 million USD, while imports from the country were valued at 53 million USD.

Cambodia’s main exports to Japan are garments and textiles and agro-products. Imports consist mainly of machinery, motor vehicles, and electronic devices.

In order to boost their business and tourism cooperation, the two countries signed an agreement on air transportation on January 14.

Earlier, Prime Minister Cambodia Hun Sen and Japanese Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Kazuyuki Nakane attended a ceremony connecting spans of Neak Loeung, Cambodia’s longest bridge constructed with funding from Japan.-VNA
