The Royal Thai and Cambodian armies have agreed to withdraw their armed forces from sensitive positions along their common border, said Cambodian General Chea Dara.

The decision was made at a meeting between military delegations from both countries in O’Smac district of the Cambodian province of Oddar Meanchey on October 11.

Deputy Commander-in-chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces Chea Dara was quoted by the Cambodian daily newspaper Kampuchea Thmey as saying that both had also agreed to set up border control stations at Preah Vihear Temple and Ta Moan temple in Oddar Meanchey province.

Previously, the Cambodian army said that Thailand had withdrawn 1,000 soldiers from the area around Preah Vihear Temple./.
