Cambodia, Thailand record strong bilateral trade

Cambodia’s trade reform has facilitated the growth of import from the ASEAN member states, the European Union, China, and Japan this year, Secretary of State of Ministry of Commerce Kim Sithon said.

Cambodia shipped to Thailand 457 million USD worth of commodities, mainly rice, maize, cassava, beans, fish, and garment, a year on year surge of 61 percent.

Meanwhile, Thailand’s exports to Cambodia reached 3.725 billion USD during the period, up 8 percent. Thai products to the partner are mainly gas and petroleum, food, fruits, building materials, construction equipment and pharmaceuticals.

In a recent meeting in Phnom Penh, the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) has discussed measures to further enhance economic cooperation between the two countries, notably their border areas.-VNA
