Bilateral trade between Cambodia and the United State reached 811.2 million USD the first quarter of this year, according to the Cambodia Embassy in the US.

During the period, Cambodia imported 86 million USD worth of commodities from the US. Major imports included automobiles, machinery and spare parts.

Meanwhile, the Southeast Asian country exported goods valued at 725.2 million USD to the US, the nation’s second biggest importer behind the EU. Cambodia’s key export items are apparel and footwear.

According to the Cambodian Commerce Ministry, two-way trade turnover between the two countries hit more than 3 billion USD in 2014.

Cambodia posted total Q1 trade revenue of 4.75 billion USD, up 6.5 percent year on year. Export turnover accounted for 2.14 billion USD of the sum, an annual increase of 7.5 percent.-VNA
