Long An (VNA) - Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam An on November 4 presented 500 million VND (some 21,570 USD) to aid disaster-hit people in Vietnam’s central region.

The money was channelled through authorities of the Mekong Delta province of Long An, which borders Cambodia’s Svay Rieng and Prey Veng provinces.

The financial assistance was donated by the Deputy PM, the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association, the Cambodian Red Cross, and authorities and the youth federation in Cambodia’s Svay Rieng province.

At the handover ceremony at Long An’s Binh Hiep international gate, Men Sam An extended her sympathy to people in the central region, hoping them and the country would soon overcome the difficulties and losses to stabilise their lives and boost socio-economic development.

Receiving the donation, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Pham Tan Hoa expressed his thanks to the Cambodian Government, people and Deputy PM Men Sam An for the support./.
