Hanoi (VNA) – Cambodia reported 1,384 malariacases in 2023, down about 66% from the previous year.

It marked significant progress in the fight against thedisease, said Huy Rekol, Director of Cambodia’s National Centre forParasitology, Entomology and Malaria Control.

There were no fatalities reported among the cases, he said, adding that Cambodia has achieved a major milestone ineliminating malaria deaths since 2018, three years earlier than planned.

According to him, malaria diagnostic tests and treatmentshave been highly effective in Cambodia./.
