Can Tho city improves urban infrastructure

The 90.4 million USD project to improve urban infrastructure in the Mekong delta city of Can Tho was launched in the city’s Binh Thuy district on June 17.

The 90.4 million USD project to improve urban infrastructure in the Mekong delta city of Can Tho was launched in the city’s Binh Thuy district on June 17.

 

As many as 70 million USD of the project’s funding are sourced from the World Bank’s loans and the rest of 20.4 million USD is covered by local budget, according to Quan doi Nhan dan (People’s Army daily).

As part of the WB-funded Urban Upgrading Project for six Mekong Delta cities, the project upgrades infrastructure and living environment in 12 wards of the four districts of Ninh Kieu, Binh Thuy, Cai Rang and O Mon.

It is estimated that 45,000 people will directly benefit from the project and a total of 479,000 people will be indirect beneficiaries.-VNA
