Care and treatment for children with HIV-AIDS

The Ministry of Health and the Fund for people living with HIV-AIDS visited and presented gifts to affected at the Social-Labour-Education No.2 in Hanoi’s Ba Vi district on June 2.
The Ministry of Health and the Fund for people living with HIV-AIDS visited and presented gifts to affected at the Social-Labour-Education No.2 in Hanoi’s Ba Vi district on June 2.

The centre is currently caring for 77 orphans infected with HIV/AIDS.

According to Deputy Health Minister Nguyen Thanh Long , there are about 4,000 children nationwide having HIV/AIDS.

He said the Ministry pledges to provide treatment with live-saving antiretroviral drug (ARV) for all the affected children.

The deputy minister has also called on local government agencies to develop social policies and services that ensure the rights of children with HIV-AIDS and to reduce stigma and social discrimination against them.-VNA
