Central Highlands localities, Japan boost collaboration

A seminar on strengthening cooperation between the Central Highlands localities and Japan took place in the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak on October 7.

Dak Lak (VNA) – A seminar on strengtheningcooperation between the Central Highlands localities and Japan took place inthe Central Highlands province of Dak Lak on October 7.

The event was held with the aim of pushing up theconnectivity between regional localities and representative offices of theJapanese government and representatives of the Japanese business community inVietnam. It also served as a forum for the two sides to have an insight on thepolicies, measures and projects to accelerate cooperation in various field inthe time to come.

Speaking at the function, head of the Foreign Ministry’sConsular Department Nguyen Hoang Long hailed Japan as a partner of top significanceof Vietnam.

With abundant natural resources, the Central Highlandsregion holds great potential of developing agro-forestry, processed industry, cleanenergy and tourism. Its major industry plants for export include coffee,pepper, rubber, vegetables and flowers.

The region is also well-positioned to develop solar and windpower.

Participants were briefed on the region’s potentials,strengths, development orientations and incentives for business projects.

Representatives from Japanese agencies expressed theirinterest in expanding business operations in Vietnam, including the CentralHighlands, saying that the country has become the second most attractivedestination for Japanese companies.

Shinji Hirai, chief representative of the Japan ExternalTrade Organisation and Vice Chairman of the Japanese Business Association in HoChi Minh City, said regional localities hold potential in agriculture, moderntechnology, post-harvest processing and renewable energy, cultural and tourismexchange with Japan./.

PM requests boosting agricultural development in Northwestern region

PM Chinh encouraged local residents to explore additional crops and livestock suitable for intercropping in order to maximise land use efficiency. Farmers were also urged to strengthen cooperation with one another and with businesses by joining cooperatives, consolidating land resources and working together to expand production and improve incomes.

Promoting high-quality rice exports amid mounting challenges

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment (MAE), an estimated 600,000 tonnes of rice worth 370 million USD was exported in January, up 12.4% in volume and 16.9% in value year-on-year. The average export price reached 616.6 USD per tonne, up 4%.

Fuel prices rise sharply from 3 pm on March 7

Since the beginning of this year, domestic fuel prices have undergone 11 adjustments. During this period, both RON95 and E5 RON92 experienced four decreases and seven increases, while diesel oil two falls and nine hikes.

Capital’s fuel market remains stable after March 5 price adjustment

Operations at several petrol stations across Hanoi have run normally. Along major routes, petrol stations remained open and continued to serve customers as usual. The number of vehicles refueling showed no major changes compared to the days before the price adjustment. Sales activities continued without interruption, and there were no long queues or supply disruptions.
