Business players from the central and Central Highlands regions met at a workshop in the central province of Ninh Thuan on October 5 to seek trade opportunities with Africa and the Middle East, two of Vietnam’s key importers.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Department of Africa, West Asian and South Asian Markets, there is a strong appetite for coffee, rubber, wood, pepper, chemicals, farm produce and many other products in Africa and the Middle East.
The head of the department, Tran Quang Huy, is optimistic about the potential of these markets, saying that the Vietnamese firms should fully grasp the opportunity to do business in these areas.
At the same time, he suggested they should learn about ways to minimise export-import risks to reap success.
Participants at the workshop appealed for stronger support from relevant ministries and agencies as they are concerned about political instability in some countries of these regions.-VNA
