Hanoi (VNA) - The Central Public Security Party Committee (CPSPC) convened its mid-year conference in Hanoi on July 4 to deliberate on authorised matters.
Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, a member of the CPSPC’s standing board, sent his message to the event, giving directive guidance and suggesting key points for discussion.
Attending the conference, President To Lam and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, who are both members of the CPSPC’s standing board, commended the notable achievements of the CPSPC and the Ministry of Public Security in recent times.
Looking ahead, President Lam emphasised priorities for the upcoming period, including Party-building work and the development of the people's public security forces. He underscored the requirement for the forces to uphold the "role model" and "pioneering" spirit as well as the effective leadership in anti-corruption efforts that see "no restricted areas and no exceptions."
He requested the effective implementation of the Politburo's conclusion on arranging funds from the State forex reserves to modernise the infrastructure of the public security forces by 2030.
The president urged the CPSPC to continue effectively steering strategic advisory tasks and national security protection and crime prevention efforts. It is also necessary to boost state management efficiency in security and order, further international integration regarding security matters, and strengthen the people's security in association with the all-people national defence.
Meanwhile, PM Chinh called on the CPSPC to continue leveraging its achievements and outlining comprehensive and effective directives and measures for all aspects of police work in the near future. He emphasised the building of an exemplary party organisation at the ministry and the implementation of the Politburo’s Directive No. 35-CT/TW regarding Party Congresses at all levels leading up to the 14th National Party Congress.
Furthermore, the PM recommended the committee well perform its advisory role with the Party and the State for the issuance of policies and solutions suitable to global developments.
Also necessary are the enhancement of legal frameworks and participation in institutional development, alongside effective crime prevention, anti-corruption efforts, and state management over security and order matters, among others, he noted.
At the conference, participants examined reports on the work of the Central Public Security Party Organisation and the Public Security Ministry in the first half of the year and tasks for the second half, the five-year implementation of the Politburo's Resolution 48-NQ/TW dated March 25, 2019, and other important issues./.
