This is the project’s first event, jointly held by Vietnam ’sMinistry of Construction, the Japan International Cooperation Agency(JICA), the College of Urban Construction under the central regionTraining Centre for Water Supplies and the Thua Thien-Hue Constructionand Water Supply Company.
At the two-day workshop,those attending heard about the project’s operations, a management modelused by Japan ’s Yokohama Waterworks Bureau as well as proposalsfrom the World Health Organisation and the Vietnam Water Supply andSewerage Association.
The project will help centralprovinces to improve people’s access to fresh water and develop theworkforce for the region’s water supply companies.
It will be carried out from 2010-2013 using more than 3.3 million USD of non-refundable aid from the Japanese Government./.
