Cham ethnic people to hold Muslim festival

Muslims of the Cham ethnic group in the southern province of Ninh Thuan will celebrate the grand Ramadan festival of the 1430th year of the Muslim calendar from August 19-21.
Muslims of the Cham ethnic group in the southern province of Ninh Thuan will celebrate the grand Ramadan festival of the 1430th year of the Muslim calendar from August 19-21.

Ninh Thuan province’s Cham community consists of 73,300 people, making up 11.6 percent of the locality’s total population and 33,000 among them are Muslims.

The province is making all efforts to improve the life of the Cham people such as building roads, schools, health stations, water and electricity supply systems and markets.

This year, a season of good crops has left the Muslim Chams well-prepared for the coming Ramadan festival.

On this occasion, provincial leaders have been visiting and present gifts for pagodas, Muslim mosques and Muslim dignitaries and followers in the locality./.
