Children’s Council model makes children’s voices heard

Hanoi (VNA) –The Children’s Council model has helped Hanoi authorities and agenciesunderstand aspirations and needs regarding the development of children, heard arecent event to review the Council’s operation in the city in 2017-2020.

The model also hasserved as an important representative for children of the city over the morethan three years since its establishment.

Chairman of the HanoiCouncil of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organisation (HYPO) Ly Duy Xuanstressed that care, education and protection of children are for the sake ofthe country’s long-term benefit and the State and people must work to createoptimal conditions for their comprehensive development.

Under the PrimeMinister’s Decision 1235/QD-TTg dated August 3, 2015 on approving a programmeon promoting children’s involvement in child-related issues, Hanoi is amongfive provinces and cities selected for the pilot of the Children’s Council model.

In the reviewedperiod, the municipal Children’s Council, set up with 41 members, arranged over 300 activities to garnerchildren’s opinions at grassroots level and held five meetings at city level, withfocus on tackling learning pressure, school violence, and child abuse in thecommunity and cyber space, among others.

Members of the Councilalso joined regular training courses to improve soft and social skills so as tobetter fulfil their role.

Although the model is newly-launched,its members have exerted efforts to hold numerous practical activities. Manychildren’s opinions have been inscribed in Hanoi’s legal documents./.

Road accident fund to provide support from September

Under Decree No. 279/2025/ND-CP and Circular No. 126/2026/TT-BCA, injured victims with bodily injury rates of over 31% to below 81% may receive up to 10 million VND (381 USD) per case, while families of deceased victims may receive up to 20 million VND.
