Chinese firms support the poor in Binh Duong

The Chinese Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, Xu Mingliang, on Dec. 22 handed over 410 million VND to the “Fund for the Poor” of the southern province of Binh Duong.

The money was contributed by 23 Chinese companies and individuals who are doing business in the province, in response to the Consul General’s appeal on the 60 th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations and the Year of China-Vietnam Friendship 2010.

Xu said a large number of Chinese businesses are investing in Vietnam and many of them are operating in Binh Duong as the province is located next to the southern economic hub of Ho Chi Minh City .

Binh Duong province has also shown good performances in administrative reforms and created favourable conditions for business and production activities, the diplomat added.

Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Hoang Son thanked the Chinese companies for their donations and briefed them on the province’s socio-economic development.

Son said he hoped that besides the current 80 Chinese-invested projects capitalised at 232 million USD, more Chinese businesses would invest in the province in the years to come.

The chairman also pledged to continue to care for and create better conditions for foreign investors to effectively do business in Binh Duong province./.
