Chinese legislator pledges deeper cooperation with Vietnam

Vice Chairwoman of the NPC Standing Committee Yan Junqi made thestatement at a meeting with General Secretary of the Communist Party ofVietnam Nong Duc Manh in Hanoi on March 23, adding that the cooperationwill enrich and deepen the two countries’ comprehensive strategicpartnership.

The Vice Chairwoman praised the socio-economic achievements of the Vietnamese people during the Doi Moi (renewal) process.

Party General Secretary Manh highlighted the friendship between the twocountries, built and fostered by generations of leaders. Joint effortsin all areas--politics, economics, culture, education, healthcare,science and technology--have benefited both peoples.

The Party leader expressed his pleasure with the results of the twoparties’ theoretical workshops and exchange programs between youths aswell as cooperation in personnel training.

He spoke highly of collaboration between the two top legislative bodiesand said he hopes they will enhance such efforts in future,contributing to promoting ties between the two parties and states./.

16th NA reviews amendments to four tax-related laws on April 21
