A Chinese man has been arrested in the central city of Da Nang for illegally bringing foreigners into Vietnam, the municipal police department said on July 26.

DaNang  (VNA) – A Chinese man has been arrested in the central city of DaNang for illegally bringing foreigners into Vietnam, the municipal police departmentsaid on July 26.

GaoLiang Gu, 42, was captured by police forces of Da Nang and central Quang Namprovince, while he was staying in a hotel in Ngu Hanh Son district on July 25.

Hehas been identified as the leader of a ring trafficking Chinese nationals intoDa Nang and Quang Nam over the recent past. He was taken to Quang Nam forfurther investigation.

DaNang’s police found four Chinese nationals illegally entering Vietnam during anadministrative inspection in Khue My ward, Ngu Hanh Son district, on July 11,and another group of 27 Chinese in a hotel in An Hai Bac ward, Son Tradistrict, on July 26. All of them have been quarantined and given tests in linewith COVID-19 prevention and control regulations.

Thepolice department on July 21 commenced a legal case on brokering illegal entryinto Vietnam in accordance with Article 438 of the Penal Code./.

Authorities race to rescue victims of tourist boat sinking in Ha Long Bay

As of 6:00 pm, rescue teams had saved two more individuals from a tourist boat that sank in Ha Long Bay, bringing the total number of people rescued - both passengers and crew member - to 12. 6th global Vietnamese young intellectuals forum opens in Hanoi
