Circular economy promotes sustainable agriculture

The circular economy has become a common trend in the agricultural sector, as it brings multiple values, especially sustainable development.

This is a farm in Ninh Son district in the south-central province of Binh Thuan.

It has applied closed-loop production for many years. All of the agricultural by-products and grass are collected to feed 700 cattle and sheep.

The cattle manure is then used as feed for earthworms.

By-products from this are converted into fertiliser for plants on the farm.

A similar model has been applied in the Mekong Delta province of Ben Tre, the capital of coconuts, bringing high economic efficiency.

The effective application of a circular economy in agriculture means the sector has large space to transform.

This will help create more high added-value products and ensure sustainable development in the agricultural sector./.
