The information was released by Tran Phuong Lan, Head of the CMD’sCompetitiveness Law Desk, on the sidelines of a ceremony to launchASEAN’s two new publications, namely t he ASEAN Regional Guidelines onCompetition Policy and the Handbook on Competition Policy and Law inASEAN for Business, in the central city of Da Nang on August 24.
The selected areas include aviation, banking, insurance, petroldistribution, telecommunication, cement, steel, chemical fertilizer,cattle-feed and dairy.
According to Lan, theseareas are selected because they usually see unsound competitivenesslawsuits or contain unsound competitiveness factors.
The announcement of the Competitiveness Report will provide enterpriseswith new concepts in business and investment as well as ways toapproach to new markets from the angle of the Competitiveness Law, shesaid.
The CMD will conduct competitivenessresearches and supervisions in other economic areas to announce theircompetitiveness reports annually, he added.
Vietnam ’s Competitiveness Law was approved by the National Assemblyin December 2004 and officially took effect on July 1, 2005 with focuson preventing monopoly and handling unsound competitiveness cases, thusfacilitating the equal participation in the market among businesses aswell as protecting customers’ interests./.
