Concert marks Vietnam-Italy diplomatic ties

“I Solisti Veneti”, one of the most famous chamber orchestras in Italy, will play a single concert at the Hanoi Opera House on March 21 to celebrate the 40 th anniversary of Vietnam-Italy diplomatic ties.
“I Solisti Veneti”, one of the most famous chamber orchestras in Italy, will play a single concert at the Hanoi Opera House on March 21 to celebrate the 40 th anniversary of Vietnam-Italy diplomatic ties.

The concert will also commemorate the 200 th birthday anniversary of Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi, according to the Performing Arts Centre under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Vietnamese music lovers will have a chance to enjoy classic works by Italian composers such as Vivaldi, Albinoni, Rossini, Verdi and Bottesini.

Since it was founded by conductor Claudio Scimone in 1959, “I Solisti Veneti” has performed more than 5,000 concerts in 90 countries and territories around the world.

In 2008, Claudio Scimone and his orchestra received the “Una vita nella musica” prize, which is considered by international critics as the “Nobel Prize” in music.-VNA
