Hanoi (VNA) – Top leaders of Vietnam on June 17 extended greetings to their Icelandic counterparts on the occasion of the country’s 80th National Day (June 17).

State President To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man sent their greetings to President Guðni Th. Jóhannesson, Prime Minister Bjarni Benediktsson, and Speaker of the Parliament of Iceland Birgir Armannsson, respectively.

On this occasion, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son did the same to his Icelandic counterpart Thórdís Kolbrún R. Gylfadóttir./.

US Ambassador awarded Friendship Order

The honour was presented by Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung, on behalf of State President Luong Cuong, at a ceremony in Hanoi. The Order is a prestigious award of the Vietnamese State bestowed upon foreign individuals and collectives for their significant contributions to fostering friendship, solidarity and cooperation between Vietnam and other countries.
