Construction begins on Duyen Hai 3 power plant extension

Construction of the Duyen Hai 3 Thermal Power Plant extension began with a ceremony on December 13 in the southern province of Tra Vinh in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai.
Construction of the Duyen Hai 3 Thermal Power Plant extension began witha ceremony on December 13 in the southern province of Tra Vinh in thepresence of Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai.

Thecoal-fired power plant, to be built in Dan Thanh commune, Duyen Haidistrict, has one turbine with design capacity of 660 MW.

Once completed in 42 months, it is expected to generate 3.9 billion kWh annually.

The plant has a total investment of 22.7 trillion VND (1.08 billionUSD) sourced by the Power Generation Company 1 (GENCO 1) underElectricity of Vietnam Group. The main contractor is SumitomoCorporation of Japan.

The Duyen Hai 3 Thermal Power Plant isone of the four plants in Duyen Hai Power Centre, which have a combinedcapacity of 4,348 MW.

At the ceremony, Deputy PMHoang Trung Hai said the decision of building the Duyen Hai power centreis aimed at giving a boost to economic development in the Mekong Delta.-VNA

First “green lane” durian shipment exported to China

​Under the “green lane” process, quality control begins at the cultivation stage, including soil sampling and monitoring, and continues through harvesting and processing, with traceability labels attached to trees and applied to fruit at the time of picking. It also allows plant quarantine procedures and the issuance of certificates of origin (C/O) directly in the localities where the orchards are located.
