Construction begins on road to Bac Luan II Bridge

Construction begin on March 15 on a 3.5-km road to the Bac Luan II bridge, which will connect Mong Cai city of the northern coastal province of Quang Ninh with Dongxing in China’s Guangxi province.
Construction begin on March 15 on a 3.5-km road to the Bac Luan IIbridge, which will connect Mong Cai city of the northern coastalprovince of Quang Ninh with Dongxing in China’s Guangxi province.

The approach road will have six lanes, including fourlanes for motored vehicles, and allow cars to run at a maximum speed of80km/hour. It has a total investment over 930 billion VND (43.7 millionUSD) and will be built within 12 months.

Construction on the Bac Luan II bridge stated in last November. It is expected to complete in October this year.

The building of the Bac Luan bridge II was studied in 2006 under thePrime Minister’s instructions. Accordingly, Quang Ninh was assigned tocooperate with relevant agencies to work with the Chinese side toimplement the project in line with current regulations.

In March 2012, an agreement on the construction of the bridge wasinked by Vietnam and China. Once completed, the bridge is a mutuallyowned facility.

Together with the future HaLong-Mong Cai expressway, the Bac Luan bridge II, with Vietnam’s totalinvestment of over 3. 36 trillion VND (16 million USD), will play anextremely important role in transportation and trade and tourismexchange between two localities and two coutries./.

Sea turtle nests on Lam Dong's Hon Cau island for sixth time this year

Since the beginning of 2026, sea turtles have nested six times at three beaches on Hon Cau island, namely Nhat, Mui Tau and Ba Hon. Three nests were left undisturbed at safe locations, while another three were relocated to the incubation area for protection, involving a total of 246 eggs.
